I don’t think you’ve ever written an unrealistic story. I find sometimes with characters like Clare, that people get really attached to, they sometimes project their own woulds and would nots onto the character in fiction, instead of what has actually been presented on the show. It’s not worth stressing over, your fics are wonderful.
That awkward moment when Clare worries that Jake is going to turn tail and run when their parents find out they are dating.
And Jake totally runs as soon as their parents find out they are dating.
